40th MG14 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS - WaterRat Takes the Title 2007-2008

The final heat of the NSW MG14 State Titles was held at Gosford SC on 5 April, in fine weather and light breeze. The top 3 places were already decided before the race, with Water Rat (Lindsay Mason and Daniel McLachlan of St George SC) taking the title with great consistency, including four 1sts during the series, followed by Xanadu (Gary Reeves and Paul Tyson of St George) with two firsts, and then Filthy Fase (Bob Taig and Dylan Moore of Toronto SC) with consistent placings through the series. ...   Full Report

Strong Winds Devastate the MG 14 National Titles in QLD

Strong winds devastated the Hillcrest 2007/08 Mg Skiff Australian Championships, depriving competitors and organisers of what should have been an excellent event. All the effort and hard work put into the preparation and running of this series was little comfort for the lack of sailing.

MG14 Association and NS14 Association Joint Meetings and Cooperation

 Joint Statement by the MG14 Association of NSW Inc. and the NS14 Association of Australia, July 2007, for the information of all Members and State Associations The MG14 Association of NSW Inc. and the NS14 Association of Australia have resolved to hold a series of joint meetings to discuss ways the Associations can cooperate for the benefit of both classes.

Representatives of both Associations were nominated as: NS14’s: Sandra Donovan, Hugh Tait, Sean Edmiston MG14’s: Phillip Moore, Lindsay Mason, Gary Reeves Two meeting have been held to date, in May 2007 and July 2007 respectively. The first meeting defined the mission and goals of the meetings and of the cooperation, and some specific avenues for consideration:

MG14 Goes TURBO!!!!

The MG14B (to be known as the MGB) has received the go ahead from membership.   Although the MGB will be a separate division it will be sailed alongside the existing MG14 fleet at Club & Association level in NSW & QLD.
