Courses:

Courses shall be those of the RQYS. A course map will be provided with the sailing instructions. The designated course area is Waterloo Bay of RQYS on Moreton Bay.

Rules:

Racing will be governed by the 1997 – 2000 Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions and safety regulations of the Australian Yachting Federation and by the Sailing Instructions. The regatta is classified as a category A event in accordance with Appendix G and the prescriptions of the AYF.

Sailing Instructions:

Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

 

Eligibility:

Entries will be restricted to MG14 dinghies either currently or previously registered with the MG14 Association of NSW Inc. or QLD. The nominated helmsperson shall be a member of the MG14 Association of NSW Inc. or QLD. The forward hand for each race must be nominated by the close of entries. Replacement of the nominated forward hand will not be approved by the Race Committee except for the exceptional circumstances. Application must be made in writing to the Race Committee no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the race.

Measurement:

Measurement by a measurer approved by the MG14 Association of NSW Inc. or QLD shall be completed prior to acceptance of entry. Competing boats may be subject to inspection and measurement prior to the first race. The Race Committee reserves the right to further inspection and measurement of any boat at any time during the series. No protest relating to alleged infringements of class restrictions would be accepted after the start of the third heat. The only exception to this provision is where changes are made to a boat subsequent to an inspection.

Scoring System:

The low points scoring system, Appendix A2 of the racing rules, will apply except as modified by the Sailing Instructions. Six races are scheduled, of which five shall be completed to constitute a series.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded to the skipper and crew for:

  1. 1st, 2nd, 3rd on scratch in overall series.
  2. 1st, 2nd, 3rd on handicap in overall series.

Further prizes may be awarded subject to the number of entries.

Entries:

Entries, on the appropriate form, and accompanied by an entry fee of $50 shall be received by 28th April. Late entries maybe received at the discretion of the organisers. Entries shall be directed to: Gary Phillips, 38 Baroona Street, Rochedale South QLD 4123.
